Florida Capital Bank is pleased to announce that Sam Ishee, Chief Financial Officer, has been recognized as one of the area’s Rising Stars by Jacksonville Business Journal! The Jacksonville Business Journal's Rising Stars program spotlights executives who are early in their careers and poised to make a difference for years to come.
This is the first year of the Rising Stars program, which spotlights professionals in four categories: Finance, Legal, Logistics, and Real Estate. The JBJ announced the honorees at the end of 2023 and recently hosted an event to recognize the winners.
Sam's success is a testament to hard work, dedication, and resilience. Starting at Florida Capital Bank in 2007 as a Bank Teller, he worked his way up to Bank Treasurer in 2017 – and became CFO in November of 2023. During that time, Sam obtained his Bachelor's in Accounting from UNF and completed his Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from UNF – receiving his degree in 2013.
FLCBank’s Chief Executive Officer Keith Perry said, “Sam’s strategic analytic expertise, combined with his technical knowledge and understanding of the financial services sector, helped him become an instrumental voice on the bank’s leadership team. His trajectory as a rising star is undeniable, as his strong belief in and commitment to teamwork and helping the bank reach its goals.”
Congratulations Sam! We look forward to seeing what you do next!
This isn’t the first time Sam has been recognized for his achievements – in 2018, he won The Jacksonville Business Journal's 40 Under 40, which recognizes young executives who are shaping the First Coast now and are projected to continue to have an impact well into the future.
In the Rising Stars JBJ article about Sam, he talks about lessons in his career. “The biggest lesson I've learned in my career so far is that you should never be afraid to ask for help.” Guiding and mentoring bank employees is also a passion for Sam. “The ability to share valuable business and life lessons with others and witness how they incorporate those principles to thrive in their respective careers is especially rewarding to me,” Sam said.
